Shawn Drover has posted the following update on Megadeth's Myspace: "As I write this, James is in the control room laying down a bass line to a song we have "just about" completed in demo form, and I have to say the tune sounds really killer - A good mid-paced song with a few curve balls thrown in for good measure. I liked the song from the start and have a good feeling alot of you will like it as well :) drums and guitars are pretty much done for this song, so once James lays down his track, the song will be safely put away until it is time to record the song for the actual record." MORE

Dave Mustaine has posted the following update on the Megadeth Forums: "Yesterday was the first official jam that Shawn and James and I had, and I had a blast! Of course it is still hard to play guitar and run back and forth from the Jam Room to the Drum Room where we all are set up to play with Shawn "the fastest guitarist in the world" Drover. [See what I have to put up with?] We are working on the four songs that I mentioned and had to come up with a really strong chorus riff yesterday, which I believe I did by moving the bass line under what I was doing." MORE

Shawn Drover has posted the following update on the Megadeth Forums: "As most of you know, Andy and myself are back at Vic's here in sunny Southern Cali (does it EVER rain here??) and staight away jumped into the "Pandoras box of metal riffs" that Dave has on Protools. We demo'd/recorded 2 songs with Guitar/Drums - I must say that I really liked both of them and believe they have great potential, as we recorded it in very basic form. It was a good day for me yesterday being productive and creating new music - Always fun stuff in my book" MORE

Dave Mustaine has posted the following update on the Megadeth Forums: "Yesterday was a very productive day in the studio. Andy and I went through a lot of the riffs and set out on two distinct songs. I was still feeling pretty excited about the night before's performance on the solo I did for Wayne Static of, you guessed it - Static - X, and even got an email back saying that he had a good time too. I can't wait for you to hear this and tell me what you think of me going outside of my normal realm. ..I did, however, stay within the Megadeth classic style for these two new songs" MORE
